HOMEOSTATIC MEDICAL is a proactive medical resource, placing experienced, professional, advanced Paramedics on-location, ensuring that if the unexpected strikes, we are immediately on-hand to provide healthcare; whether that be ensuring the health and welfare of your team, providing healthcare advice, or simply being on standby to provide advanced emergency Paramedic care should the need arise.
Movies & TV
Unit Paramedic
Due to the potentially hazardous nature of movie and TV sets, there can be an increased risk of trauma. Stunt people perform high-risk scenes that can sometimes go wrong. We will work closely with the production team and stunt coordinator to risk assess any activities and
performances, making sure we are prepared to immediately intervene should anything happen. Behind the camera, movie sets tend to have a large number of crew across a broad spectrum of roles, and as with any micropopulation, acute illness and injury can occur. Having a medic on-set to assess, treat and advise is beneficial for the crew and the production as a whole.
On-Location Emergency Care
Pre-hospital Accident & Emergency Paramedical cover
Our friendly and experienced Advanced Paramedic Practitioners will be immediately available to provide life-saving Paramedical interventions, whether that be at a planned event, or as a medical escort, we will intervene and aim to provide stabilisation, prevent worsening, and promote recovery. When the worst happens, seconds can mean the difference between life and death. An ambulance can take 9 minutes to arrive on-scene, which can seem like a life time in a life-threatening situation, but having a Paramedic on standby can mitigate that scenario. Dependant on the type of event and the environment, we can mobilise in a marked car, on an electric bike, or on foot.
Medical Escorts
Personal Paramedic
Life can be unpredictable, and never knowing when the unexpected will strike can be a cause for concern, leading to anxiety, however, being prepared can mean the difference between life and death. By having a medical escort accompany you, we can immediately intervene using life-saving equipment and drugs. A detailed history of medical conditions, medications and allergies will be taken beforehand, so should anything happen, we already have the vital background information we need in order to provide rapid emergency healthcare.
Repatriation
Flight Paramedic
It can be a daunting and anxious experience becoming unwell away from home. Should you, or a travel companion become unwell or have an accident abroad, we can fly out to your location and provide reassurance and continued healthcare, escorting you home using a commercial airline. A friendly, familiar service is invaluable whilst in an unfamiliar environment. We will monitor your condition on the journey home, and be on hand to intervene should the need arise.
David Jackson MSc, IP, MCPara
Advanced Paramedic Practitioner
My background
I am a HCPC registered Advanced Paramedic Practitioner and Independent Prescriber with extensive experience working in emergency, urgent and primary care settings. I have worked as a NHS medic for almost 15 years; I started my career as a trainee Emergency Medical Technician with East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) and qualified as a Paramedic following 3 years of study. I have worked as part of an emergency ambulance crew, and also as a solo responder in a Fast Response Vehicle. In 2008, I joined the EMAS Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and underwent specialist training to provide medical care to patients in hazardous environments, such as at height, in confined spaces and mass casualty incidents. In 2014 I decided to leave the ambulance service to gain experience providing healthcare in different environments. I joined Princess Cruises as a Paramedic providing daily clinics as well as being on-call for emergencies. Following a 2 month period onboard the Golden Princess, I returned to the U.K and was appointed as an Autonomous Practitioner in an Urgent Care Centre. During my career, I have also worked in the private healthcare sector, providing medical cover on film & TV productions, and also providing repatriations of patients who require a medical escort to travel home on a commercial airline. Most recently, I have worked in a busy Urgent Care Centre, and also for the Home Visiting Service.
